Why I created Walker Wellness Retreats:
I created Walker Wellness Retreats because I feel traveling changed my life for the better and I want to share the positive impact travel can have with the world. Travel makes the world not so large. It opens your mind to new ways of thinking. I have a masters degree and believe with all my heart I learned more as an international English teacher traveling the world than I ever did in a classroom. I created Walker Wellness Retreats because I have a lot of experience traveling. I have traveled to over 50 countries and have done all sorts of traveling...from backpacking and staying in hostels to budget large group travel to luxury five star resorts. I found out what I like and what I don't like. My preferences may not be yours and that is okay! I don't like the 50 passenger buses with the headsets and trying to keep up with the groups ( but this is an inexpensive way to see the world), I don't like camping ( my recent retreat to Peru reminded me of this when I had a panic attack in the tent because it turns out I am legit claustrophobic), and I don't like staying in hostels ( I stayed in one recently in Amsterdam to give my sister a taste of budget travel and sharing a room with 14 strangers cost the same as a nice hotel 5 miles away for some odd reason so I listened to someone snoring below me for nothing!)
With being a social worker as my full-time gig, I can't necessarily afford five-star luxury vacations all the time. With Walker Wellness Retreats, I'm able to use my experience of traveling and finding deals to pick and plan incredible adventures with the goal of bringing like-minded travelers together to incredible places around the globe!
